6 Days China Impression Tour: Shanghai, Beijing

1. Tour Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival in Shanghai
On arrival in Shanghai airport, you will be met by our tour guide and transferred to your hotel with a private car and driver. Free for the remaining of the day. You could have a rest or take a walk near the hotel.
Day 02 Shanghai (Breakfast + Lunch)
Tour to Jade Buddha Temple, Yuyuan Garden and the nearby Yuyuan Market which is known locally as the City God Temple. Have lunch, then visit Former French Concession, Shikumen area, Xintiandi, and have a stroll over the Bund.

Jade Buddha Temple: Founded in 1882, the Jade Buddha Temple is a popular tourist destination for its two magnificent 1.9-meter-high white jade Buddhas brought from Burma. It is now an active monastery of Zen Buddhism, with 70 resident monks living and working there.
Yu Yuan Garden: The most famous garden in Shanghai, located not far from the Bund. The garden was finished in 1577; construction of the garden took 20 years. Yuyuan Garden is built in traditional Chinese style with many beautiful rock formations, trees, ponds, and pavilions. Doorways and zigzagging bridges separating the garden into various areas.
Former French Concession: As a foreign concession in Shanghai, the Former French Concession neighborhood is very beautiful - the buildings, the trees. The French Concession was established on 6 April 1849, when the French Consul to Shanghai, and it ends in 1943 when the Vichy French government signed it over to the pro-Japanese puppet government in Nanjing.
The Bund: With a length of 1 km, the bund is dotted with various grandiose solid buildings of western style dating back to the early this century in its west. Due to these imposing buildings, the bund is also reputed as "an international exhibition of architecture".
Day 03 Shanghai - Beijing (Breakfast + Lunch)
Transfer to the airport for flight to Beijing. Tour to the Temple of Heaven. Optional program in the evening: Peking Opera, Kungfu Show or Chinese Acrobatics.

Temple of Heaven: The site where the emperors of Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties used for worshiping the God of Heaven. Construction of the Temple of Heaven began in 1406 and it took 14 years to complete. The main building - the Circular Altar, which has three layered terraces with white marble, is the place where the emperors offer sacrifice.
Peking Opera: China's national opera and it is also China's traditional art. It combines music, vocal performance, mime, dance, and acrobatics. It arose in the late 18th century and became fully developed and recognized by the mid-19th century. Traditional opera is very popular among Chinese people, especially seniors. Nowadays, appreciting an authentic Beijing Opera Show in famous Liyuan Theater is a must-do when you are traveling in Beijing.
Day 04 Beijing (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)
Visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City (the Imperial Palace) and the Summer Palace. Enjoy the Beijing Roasted Duck Dinner.

Tian'anmen Square: Lying in the center of Beijing, the square is rectangular in shape and measuring 40 hectares. Tian'anmen Square is 500 meters wide from east to west and 880 meter long from north to south. It can accommodate up to one million people. At the southern end of Tian'anmen Square just behind the Monument to the Heroes of the People, visitors will find The Chairman Mao's Mausoleum. The historical sites and the political importance of the area make it a must-see for travelers to Beijing.
Forbidden City: The imperial palace and the home of 24 Emperors during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. Enclosed behind its moat and 9.9m-high walls are 980 buildings, vast courtyards and long corridors that occupy a total area of 720,000 square meters. The construction of the Forbidden City took 14 years and was finished in 1420. It was listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1987.
Summer Palace: Occupying an area of 290 hectares, it is the best-preserved and biggest imperial garden in China. Three quarters of the garden is made up of shallow lakes. The Summer Palace was originally constructed as an imperial garden in 1750, the 100-odd exquisite traditional architecture in the garden include pavilions, pagodas, temples, stone bridges, waterside gazebos, covered corridors and the famous marble boat.
Day 05 Beijing (Breakfast + Lunch)
Take an excursion to the Mutianyu Great Wall and the Ming Tombs. See the appearance of the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium) at a distance.

Mutianyu Great Wall: Located approximately 45 miles from Beijing, Mutianyu is the most well-preserved part of the Great Wall with comparatively less tourist. It connects Juyongguan Pass in the west to Gubeikou Great Wall in the east. Mutianyu Great Wall historically has served as the northern border of Beijing. The Great Wall was listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO in 1987.
Ming Tombs: The imperial cemetery of 13 Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) emperors, they are located in a canyon at the southern foot of Tianshou Mountain. Ming Tombs form the most extensive burial complex of any Chinese dynasty and are one of the finest preserved pieces of 15th century Chinese art and architecture. Among them, only the DingLing Tomb and ChangLing Tomb are opened to visitors. The Ming Tombs were listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in August 2003.
Day 06 Departure (Breakfast)
Transfer to the airport for your departure, end of service.

4. Service Inclusion For The Above Tour:

The hotel is based on two persons sharing one twin or double standard room with private facilities.

Daily American or Chinese breakfast at the hotel, Chinese lunch and dinner in local Chinese restaurant as specified in the itinerary above.

Private transport between airport or railway station and hotel and all the sights by air-conditioned vehicle.
4. Transportation between Cities
The economic class air tickets of the domestic flight or soft berth/seat train tickets between cities as specified in the itinerary.

6. Guiding service
All normal sightseeing tours in each city with English-speaking guide and admission fees where applicable. Our guide will not fly with you from one city to another. Upon your arrival at each city, a new local guide and driver will pick you up, be with you for local tour and see you off after you finish the itinerary of each city. The cruise shore excursion is in-group assigned by the cruise company if your tour include Yangtze River cruise.
7. Insurance

8. Tibet Travel Permit application fee

What is single supplement?
The hotel is based on double occupancy. If the visitor travels alone or the number of the travelers is odd (such as 3, 5, 7...), who stays in one single room has to pay the single room supplement. As the hotel is on double occupancy.
