The Nanjing Museum is a comprehensive museum
of municipal level in China. It is opened to the public
in 1978, and it is responsible for the excavation and
preservation of the ancient relics in the Nanjing area.
It vividly exhibits the stages of development in Nanjing
and its role played in Chinese history. The Nanjing
Museum set in the city center, where the place is having
much old Chinese architecture. There is very wide range
of invaluable collection in the Nanjing Museum , it
spans over tens of thousands of years. The most famous
relics among the 100,000 articles in the museum are
the fossils of the ancient Nanking Man's Skull , the
gold inlayed jade belt and the Amber Cup of a Fisherman
Playing Lotus Leaves, as well as a lot of excavated
potteries and some tomb inscriptions of ancient celebrities.
The Nanjing Museum has published many books concerning
the research in Nanjing's cultural heritage. Exhibitions
in ancient culture are frequently held. The relics in
the Nanjing Museum have exhibited in countries like
the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and Singapore,
which aroused great interest from the audience there.
In recent years, the museum has also introduced many
precious cultural articles from Western countries. The
Nanjing Museum has held exhibitions about the relics
during the Renaissance period in Italy.The Nanjing Museum
has a team of interpreters who are very fluent in Chinese
and English, a high quality automatic speaker system
which has Chinese, English and Japanese in the exhibition
